Kyla is reading about Jolly Robin - she can't wait for reading time each day, always asking if she can read just one more chapter! But I need her to read and comprehend - that is one of those "basics".
She is studying odds and evens in math. She has the evens down pretty much, but her and the odds? LOL - oh my! That child has made me laugh so much this week! LOL
Shell is working on reviewing his math facts, because the next step in math for him is fractions - and his words are ... "Grannee, I don't do fractions good. I have a hard time with them." But that's ok ... that's what we are here for - learning and doing.
I told Shell that he can read whatever he wants to - as long as he can comprehend it enough to tell me about it after he reads it. His interest is in Trapping - so, I am learning some things, LOL.
We are learning about the States. Shell chose to study about New Mexico, and Kyla chose Montana. We have gone to the library, and they each have a book on their State. We will be sharing what they have learned so far.
Tuesday night this next week, Shell will be preparing a supper made with some of the foods of New Mexico. Then, Wednesday night, Kyla will serve us from Montana.
Every Thursday they will have a "new" State to study the following week. So, this should be an "interesting" year - LOL!
I have found several different math, reading, spelling, states, geography games to load on the tablet - I am impressed. They really are educational games. The kids are enjoying them - and learning. Joshua has played a few of them as well. LOL
This next week we will continue with reading and math ... adding language arts, more history, science, Bible studies ... Y'all PRAY!!! lol
